SeaWeb and Seafood Summit announced as key partner of Asian Seafood Exposition
SILVER SPRING, MD—SeaWeb and Diversified Business Communications (Diversified) are pleased to announce that Diversified will be the industry media sponsor of the 10th International Seafood Summit in Hong Kong. The Summit is organized by SeaWeb's Seafood Choices program with the goal of fostering dialogue and partnerships that lead to a seafood marketplace that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. This sponsorship highlights Diversified's commitment to promoting healthy oceans and improving fisheries worldwide.
"We are thrilled to have Diversified Business Communications as our industry media sponsor for the 10th International Seafood Summit," said Dawn M. Martin, President and CEO of SeaWeb. "This exciting partnership will help highlight the important role that seafood sustainability plays in ensuring a sustainable marketplace. The credibility and expansive reach of Diversified Business Communications will introduce new audiences to advancing the dialogue around responsible business practices."
The Seafood Summit commemorates a decade of dialogue on sustainable seafood with the theme "Evolving Solutions for New Horizons," which encompasses issues including:
Ecolabeling and certification
Green business policy and marketing
Consumer demand and awareness
Fisheries management and trade of keystone species, including sharks, tuna, and salmon
Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU)
The summit is attended by a diverse group of seafood industry professionals and has grown exponentially over the past decade. For the past two years, registration has sold out completely. The Summit will be held at The Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong from September 6 through 8, and is supported by field trips and workshops before and after the Summit to give delegates hands-on experience in the Asian marketplace. Diversified Business Communications organizes the Asian Seafood Exposition, which will be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre from September 11 through 13. Other Diversified entities include the European Seafood Exposition, Seafood Processing Europe, the International Boston Seafood Show, Seafood Processing America, Seafood Barcelona, SeafoodSource.com and SeaFood Business.
"SeaWeb's Seafood Summit fosters progressive dialogue about seafood sustainability -- an initiative that we strongly support -- and the Asian Seafood Exposition is the best gateway for buying and selling seafood in the region, providing an attractive and synergistic pairing of events for seafood leaders" said Mary Larkin, Group Vice President of Diversified's seafood events and publications. "We believe in the value of face-to-face events in facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge between industry leaders, making this partnership a great fit for us and SeaWeb."
As part of this partnership, Diversified Business Communications, which also powers SeafoodSource.com, the leading seafood supplier directory and seafood news resource in the industry, will be the key conduit for industry media around the Summit. SeafoodSource.com offers an interactive package of resources including industry news, editorial commentary, market reports, product reviews, classifieds and a comprehensive directory of thousands of seafood industry suppliers and products of specialized areas such as seafood processing equipment, seafood industry organizations and fin-fish suppliers.
